Sara Goldware is the Program Associate for the National High School Alliance (Alliance), housed at the Institute for Educational Leadership. Her responsibilities include providing programmatic support for all meetings, activities, and products of the Alliance and other projects under the direction of the Director. In her role, Sara writes, edits, and publishes Update, a bi-weekly newsletter about high school news and events. She also conducts reviews and analyses on key policy issues, and writes and edits reports, issue briefs, and Web site content. Sara is the primary author of a policy brief, Federal Policy Positions of National High School Alliance Partners (2007), as well as a co-author of a policy report, Academic Interventions to Help Students Meet Rigorous Standards: State Policy Options (2007), both published by the Alliance.
Sara’s experience includes serving as a research assistant in the Smith College Office of Advancement and as a legal assistant for the Law Offices of Frankel & Goldware, where she assisted with document production and trial preparation. She obtained federal policy experience during a six-month internship with the Office of Congresswoman Diane E. Watson. She has held many leadership positions and has worked with children in various capacities.
Sara received her B.A. in Government from Smith College, where she was graduated Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She also attended New York University in Prague, Czech Republic for one semester, and completed a year of coursework in Jerusalem, Israel.
