SARAH MANES

Sarah Manes is a Research Associate for the MetLife Task Force on Teacher Leadership in High Schools and the National High School Alliance at the Institute for Educational Leadership. She is providing research, analysis, and coordination for these initiatives.

Sarah has a background in education research and evaluation. Most of her work has focused on science and mathematics education for women, girls, and minorities. She has worked with the Urban Institute, the National Science Foundation, Baltimore City Public Schools, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Sarah has her Master’s of Public Policy, with a concentration in the international political economy, from the Georgetown Public Policy Institute. Her practicum focused on the role of women in the development of Latin American countries, in particular the impact that female education levels have on economic development models. Sarah also has training in culturally sensitive evaluation and participated in a Howard University training institute, funded partially by the National Science Foundation.
